BOUTIQUE STAYS

Hotel Peter and Paul - This Marigny hotel is oozing with charm and history. The compound was once comprised of a church, schoolhouse, rectory and convent to which the hotel gave a nod when considering design. Classy and elegant but not stuffy in the slightest with a beautiful bar and restaurant on the ground floor.

The Chloe - Have you always wanted to pretend you lived in a mansion Uptown? This petite 14-room hotel will give you those vibes. Tastefully decorated rooms, a saltwater pool, and a delicious onsite restaurant right on regal St. Charles Ave.

Hotel Saint Vincent - Built in 1861, this Lower Garden District building has housed everything from an orphanage to a youth hostel. While this was once questionable place to stay it is now one of the most lux (and pricey) in town. The design elements from the 60s and 70s don’t clash with the original charm of the over 150-yr-old building which also boasts a pool, two restaurants and even a “fashion and lifestyle boutique” that carries vintage and new luxury brands.

Maison de la Luz - I think of this hotel as the mature, sophisticated older sister to the Ace Hotel. Incredible design that doesn’t shy away from bold colors and lush fabrics in the rooms as well as the bar and restaurant. This hotel definitely a luxurious stay with a price tag to match.

CLASSICS

Hotel Monteleone - Hosting guests in the French Quarter since 1886 makes this hotel timeless and historic. You can choose between newly renovated rooms or the classic, traditional ones. After a day of strolling through the Quarter you can come back and have a drink at the famed Carousel Bar or head up to the rooftop pool for a dip.

The Roosevelt - Grand is how I would describe this CBD hotel that is now operated by the Waldorf Astoria group. Another classic that has been serving the city since 1893 and hosts multiple restaurants, the landmark Sazerac Bar, and a rooftop pool.

The Windsor Court - This hotel may not be nearly as old as some of the others but one can expect the same level of comfort and class from this CBD spot. Also home to a wonderful spa, rooftop pool, multiple dining options and my favorite childhood memory- the tea room, Le Salon.

The Royal Sonesta - IF you don’t mind being in the middle of it all and want a unique to New Orleans experience in the French Quarter then maybe this is the hotel for you. Located directly on Bourbon St. where you will have access to authentic wrought-iron balconies overlooking the debauchery below. This is not a place to stay if crowds, booze, and unsavory behavior offend you.
